Dan, a retired five year old Greyhound

Outcome

Dan featured in August 2012

This week’s rescue pet is Dan, the five-year-old retired greyhound. He is just one of the hundreds of ex-racing greyhounds waiting for homes through the Retired Greyhound Trust.

Dan is an friendly dog and will walk calmly on the lead, though he can be quite strong. He’d suit a family with teenage children or an adult-only home.

What happened next?

This March starts with some really wonderful news in that Dan, our then longest stay greyhound finally got himself adopted. He waited a whole 18 months for it to happen, but the deed is done and we know he’ll be very happy as he’s not physically moved anywhere. Dan’s status in the home has simply changed from foster dog to family pet.
