I am a veterinary surgeon with a passion for communicating my love of my work through writing, radio, television and the internet. My mission is to use the media, where ‘Pete the Vet’ has become my trademark name, to act as an advocate on behalf of animals.
I have worked in a companion animal practice in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland, since 1991, and I have my own menagerie of dogs, cats, ducks, hens and others. I am well known as a media veterinarian in Ireland and the UK, with numerous appearances on TV, Radio and Podcasts over the last 20+ years.
I have also presented prime time television programmes (TV3’s “Animal A&E”) and contributes articles regularly to national and regional newspapers and magazines.
Pete is known as “Pete the Vet” on his busy Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, BlueSky and Linkedin pages , regularly posting information on topical subjects and real-life cases from my clinic. My mission in life is to communicate high quality information to pet owners, in an entertaining, engaging way.
