Bowie is an adorable 11 year old Staffy cross

Bowie (a girl) has now been with Mayhew for over 275 days, and is in desperate need of a loving home with a forever family. She is an intelligent, chatty and sensitive girl who has still has plenty of energy, and who likes nothing more than going for long walks, playing a game of fetch and then cuddling up on the sofa.

Bowie originally arrived at Mayhew because her owner was taken ill and could no longer look after her. She is well trained, knows most commands and is friendly with strangers, although she will need an experienced new owner to keep up with her boisterousness! As she can sometimes be grumpy with other dogs, we’d love to find her a home in a semi-rural or low dog populated area so that she can enjoy her walks without being overwhelmed by other dogs.

She also doesn’t cope very well when she is left alone, so is looking for someone who can be around for her during the day and night. She would happily live with sensible teenagers over 16 years of age, but wouldn’t be suitable living with young children or in a flat due to her loud and excitable behaviour. Bowie has been neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, and is also up to date with her flea and worm treatment.
