10 min podcast: what to do if you see a wandering dog

It’s common for dogs to be seen wandering the streets, with no owner in sight. What should you do if you see such an animal?

In theory, the dog warden should be called (check your local authority website for the phone number) but in practice, straying dogs are quick to run off, and they can be hard to catch. A dog warden arriving an hour after a dog has been spotted may struggle to find them. So it’s common for people to have to try to catch dogs themselves. And while this is sometimes easy to do, there are some dogs that can be impossible to catch.

Today’s podcast is a sad story, with a sad ending.  But if the word is spread about the best way to solve this sort of issue, perhaps next time it may work out better.
