
There’s increasing recognition of the similarities between humans and animals, yet British and Irish societies still treat animals very differently to humans. No-go areas for dogs are common, from shops to pubs and restaurants. There’s increasing evidence that there is a poor rationale for excluding animals in this way, with many benefits to gain from greater accommodation to animals in our daily lives.
