At a recent conference, Pete learned some surprising facts about pet food during a debate about the pros and cons of commercial vs home cooked feeding of pets.
One session, titled “Pet Nutrition Debate”, came up with a surprising result: 83% of delegates believed that pet nutrition teaching for vets at university is inadequate. Since pet owners are regularly told to ask their vets for advice on what to feed their pets, this is a worrying figure. If vets feel that they have not been adequately trained in this area, what hope is there for owners?

Well, depends on which one. Commercial dog food is a very broad term these days. Some are awesome, some not so much. With Cookie being on raw I’d probably have to cook it for myself but our dogs eat better than we do.
