Animal cruelty on a farm & dog parks

n this week’s radio broadcast with East Coast Fm, we first discussed animal cruelty on a local farm which was highlighted by the local Gardai, and we then discussed the concept of dog parks.

Dog parks sound good in theory, but in practice they do not always work well. People with uncontrolled big dogs sometimes let their pets intimidate smaller, more anxious animals. Dog parks are only successful when there is a paid dog warden in place at all times to monitor social encounters between dogs, and this is an expense that few local authorities will be prepared to accept.
