The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group (IWDG) has submitted a project to the Wildlife Disease Association 2025 Wildlife Health Challenge Grant to fund a research project on wild live dolphins that strand in the west coast of Ireland. This will gather baseline information to learn important facts about dolphins’ health and welfare.
There are 12 international projects in this competition and this is the only Irish and European project. This is a challenge on The Experiment platform which is similar to the GoFundMe platform except it is for scientific research. However there is a caveat, they only release funds if the project achieves its target which in our case is 4400 dollars. To date, they have raised $3000.
