On Ireland AM this week, we ran a “clinic”, where we answered pet problems sent in by viewers. There are always far more queries than we can fit in: today we were just able to answer three detailed questions:
1. I have three Jack Russells and one cross-bred collie and a cross-bred sheep dog. The elder of the Russells barks at every little stir from neighbours and hates the Postman. She could even bite the leg of their pants. The problem is she is starting all the other dogs at the same thing, no matter what I do . Please help.Thank you. A Portlaoise viewer.
2. I have a one and a half year old Miniature Yorkie – she is house trained but when anyone calls to the house she wees everywhere – even before they touch her and she does the same with me and the kids. I’m just wondering will she grow out of it or is there anything i can do or give her. Viewer from Carrick on Suir, County Tipperary
3. My cross King Charles/ Beagle fell ill last week and has been in and out of the vet’s ever since. They are not sure what’s wrong – a rare autoimmune disorder or a gastric bug or poisoning, although that’s not likely because she’s on the leash all the time. She has a low red cell count and a high white cell count. What does this mean for her long term health?
