It isn’t fashionable to praise governments but I believe that when good things are done – or even when good things are promised – then credit should be given. Please listen to this podcast with this in mind. Of course, governments can always do more, and it’s always easy to criticise. But in my experience, it’s rare enough to have Irish governments singling out animal welfare in any statements, so when it happens, it’s worth being positive.
